General Manager – Starkville, MS
Position Title: General Manager, Oktoc Water Association, Oktibbeha County.

Reports To: Board of Directors
Minimum Experience: Three to five years of managing water association infrastructure, maintenance/repairs preferred. With References.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning, organization and implementation of water operations and maintenance activities for the water distribution system. Continue to run the Oktoc Water Association as efficiently as possible within all aspects of operations needed to complete a high quality of standards set since 1967 within the Oktoc Community/area.
Attend and participate in meetings at various levels with the water association that include the Board of Directors, Engineers, USDA, Accounting firm, and Attorney.
Maintain the continued education needed and participation in all matters with Mississippi Rural Water Association, Mississippi 811 and keeping staff as well as Board Members current and in good standing. The Annual State of Mississippi Rural Water conference is suggested to attend to assist with all aspects of continued education.
This position is the initial access for Association Members regarding trouble shooting water lines and meters to have a maintain a safe flow of water.
Develop and maintain an on-call chain of action in day-to-day operations with all employees to share in continued responses as needed. Ensures that day-to-day work is safely performed to the water association’s guidelines, specifications, and standards; including working with Engineers on guidelines to maintain these standards.
This position is the initial contact source for New Association Members, along with New Construction Contractors. Continuing to work with them and Engineers to ensure they meet the established guidelines set up by Oktoc Water Association.
Stay current with Vendors for maintaining the overall system.
Work with the certified well operator to ensure that water distribution systems are compliant with local health department, state, and federal regulations.
Make recommendations to the association’s board of directors regarding the proper and efficient operation of the water system, including cost and operational analysis, preparing monthly operation reports, and all aspects of inventory, equipment, and material.
Be professional in communication with employees, including evaluations and developing their plans for future development within the Association.
